A minimum or a maximum. 2 examples.
minimize(expression, name, …) and maximize(expression, name, …) search those names. The sheet reports the point and the value. A search that runs away is not reported as a huge finite number. minimize(-a, a) has no finite minimum. maximize(a, a) has no finite maximum.
A maximum
The largest value is 0, at a = 2. max picks the larger of the values you already have. It does not search.
